The Colorado State Rams running game is banged up heading into a key Mountain West league matchup against Nevada Saturday night. First the good news, starting running back Dee Hart is expected to play against the Wolf Pack, Hart was knocked out of the game against Tulsa which saw him score a pair of touchdowns and rush for 143 yards.
The bad news for the running game is that junior college transfer Treyous Jarrells is questionable to play with the same knee injury that kept him out of last weeks game against Tulsa.
The Rams are deep in the running game and moving up the depth chart will be junior Jasen Oden, Jr. While stepping in for the injured Jarrells against Tulsa, Oden rushed for 90 yards on just 12 carries and had a 63 yard run. Oden is a big play threat and is averaging 7.6 yards per carry in his limited touches this year.
Here is head coach Jim McElwain discusses injuries on Wednesday and that includes limiting starting quarterback Garrett Grayson this week in the amount of throws this week due to suffering a bruise on his throwing shoulder. Grayson is expected to play.
