Boise State made some big recruiting news Saturday evening when the Broncos flipped Mesquite, Texas, four-star defensive back Dylan Sumner-Gardner from Texas A&M. Prior to verbally committing to Texas A&M, Sumner-Gardner was committed to play at Clemson.

Sumner-Gardner decided to follow Marcel Yates who was the co-defensive coordinator at Texas A&M to Boise State.

This is a big time recruit for Boise State as Sumner-Gardner is the 11th best player in the state of Texas, 86th nationally and the 10th best safety in the 2014 class; he also was at the Under Armour All-American game.

The list of schools that have recruited Sumner-Gardner is very long and it includes Texas, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Clemson, Oklahoma, LSU, obviously Texas A&M and other power schools.

Sumner-Gardner spoke to the Idaho Press and gave academics and the chance to elevate the program to the next level as another reason to head to Boise State:

"I felt like I could start at A&M and at Boise, but I feel like at Boise I can really be the person that changes the program around," Sumner-Gardner. "I can really be that face for Boise State.

"I've been thinking about it since I heard the news about coach Yates getting the job as defensive coordinator so I just researched Boise State. I researched their academics and I looked at the Medical program and that really stood out because I want to be an RN."

Sumner-Gardner also commented by saying he trusted and had a strong bond with Yates, and feels that Boise State's defense will be very dominant with Yates' ability to coach a defense.

Here are highlights of Sumner-Gardner:
