2014 Boise State football recruiting: Is QB Brock Raggio heading to the Broncos?

Boise State is in need of a quarterback in the 2014 class, and that could be Brock Raggio out of Reno, Nev.

Boise State is out of the Brad Kaaya sweepstakes and the Broncos are now in trouble of not landing a quarterback for the 2014 class. Boise State lost out on Nick Patti who transferred and Grant Hedrick is going to be a senior; recent junior college addition Tommy Stuart did not earn a scholarship and is just a preferred walk-on.

The pool is getting thin for quarterbacks for Boise State and offensive coordinator Mike Sanford is going out evaluating quarterbacks this week, and possibly the top player the program is interested in is Reno, Nev., pro-style quarterback Brock Raggio. He has no offers from any school but there is interest from Boise State, UCLA, UNLV and Nevada.

Sanford is expected to visit Raggio this week to see what he is all about, and Justin Hopkins of 247Sports thinks Raggio could be a huge sleeper get for any team, so there is that. In his senior year he put up 2,194 yards and tossed 24 touchdowns. However, he is not rated by any of the recruiting services and his falling under the radar.

At this point if Boise State wants to sign a high school quarterback there are not a ton of options left to pick from, and those left will be those diamond in the roughs or players who will need to be coached up.

Check out the highlights of Raggio, and he seems quite accurate on the deep pass (yes, I know these are his best throws). He also has some nice pocket presence in avoiding oncoming defenders.
