Senior guard Deonte Burton and sophomore forward Cole Huff scored 32 and 31 points, respectively, as the Nevada Wolf Pack continued to live dangerously before pulling away in double overtime for a 96-86 win at Fresno's Save Mart Center last night.
Tyler Johnson led Fresno State with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and six Bulldogs chipped in at least ten points, but the home team was unable to protect late leads in both regulation and the first overtime. The 'Dogs were also outworked in the paint, most notably by Nevada center A.J. West, who established career highs by grabbing 13 rebounds and blocking eight shots, seven of which came in the second half and overtime.
Fresno State (8-12, 1-6 MWC) travels to Las Vegas to face the Rebels on Saturday night, while Nevada (10-9, 5-1) wraps up a two game road swing in Laramie versus the Wyoming Cowboys on Saturday afternoon.
