NFL Draft 2014: Fresno State WR Isaiah Burse signed by the Denver Broncos

Fresno State wide receiver Isaiah Burse went undrafted but he did land a rookie free agent deal with the Denver Broncos.

Fresno State Bulldogs wide receiver Isaiah Burse was not taken in the NFL Draft but he did land a free agent deal with the Denver Broncos. Burse is 5-foot-10 and 188 pounds and rated as the 39th wide receiver in the draft, according to Mocking The Draft. In a high-powered offense, Burse caught 100 passes for 1,026 yards and six touchdowns.

Playing with Derek Carr in college was great but having the chance to play with Peyton Manning is even better. The Broncos are in need of wide receiver help since Eric Decker signed a free agent deal to play for the New York Jets this offseason, so there could be a place for Burse on this Broncos roster.

Here is what Burse's scouting report says:

Strengths: Elusiveness is complemented by an ability to suddenly change directions, particularly as a kick returner. Has a knack for identifying the soft spot in zone coverage.

Weaknesses: His quickness doesn't necessarily translate to an ability to separate from defenders. A signifcant amount of production could be considered scheme-dependent, as it was derived from a variety of screen plays which may not be as prominent in some pro offenses. Just passable strength to break tackles and run block.
