With the 152nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected San Diego State strong safety Nat Berhe. Berhe is 5-foot-10 and 193 pounds and was ranked the 11th best safety and 307th best prospect by CBSSports.com. In the run-stopping SDSU defense, Berhe led the team with 99 tackles. His 68 solo tackles were tied for 41st most in the country. Berhe was tied for the team lead with two fumble recoveries.
Berhe's scouting report says he's an efficient and powerful tackler whose skills will earn him early playing time on special teams. His quick feet and ability to accurately read offenses will pit him in competition for a back-up safety role, and he could very well start one day. The only question facing Berhe: will he be able to compensate for his lack of height with his skills?
