2014 NFL Mock Draft: Derek Carr holding steady

Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr is holding steady as a top 10 pick.

The first 20 picks are set for the 2014 NFL Draft -- outside of a coin flip -- and thathere means another mock draft is here. The first pick of the draft goes to the Houston Texas who are more than likely going to take a quarterback pick since Matt Schaub fell of the face of the Earth this past season.

The Texans leaning toward Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater; however, he has not officially declared he is leaving college.

Fresno State's Derek Carr is considered to be the leader right behind Bridgewater as part of the group with Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel and Central Florida's Blake Bortels as the next group of signal callers.

In the latest mock draft from SB Nation they have Carr going to the Jacksonville Jaguars who have the third pick:

Jacksonville may not be a quarterback away from challenging for the AFC South division title, but having one could expedite the team's turnaround. Carr is only as good as the offensive line in front of him, so general manager Dave Caldwell will have to make sure his pass protection is in order. If Caldwell isn't comfortable selecting who they view as the second-best quarterback, a pass rusher like Jadeveon Clowney or Khalil Mack will come into play.

Going to Jacksonville will at least give Carr some weapons in running back Maurice Jones-Drew and also a decent wide receiver in Cecil Shorts. Also, Carr would pretty much be guaranteed the starting job by the Jaguars, or whoever takes him in the first round.
