San Diego State was able to dispatch New Mexico State in overtime on Thursday night to advance to the Round of 32, and they will take on No. 12 seeded North Dakota State who upset Oklahoma to move on. The Aztecs are attempting to right the wrong that happened in 2013 where they were upset by No. 15 seeded Florida Gulf Coast in the Round of 32 last year.
If San Diego State can defeat the high-scoring North Dakota State they will be make their first Sweet 16 performance since 2011 where they lost to the eventual national champion Connecticut Huskies. North Dakota State has already made it the furthest in school history by topping Oklahoma.
