Mountain West football Friday night open thread

There are a pair of dueling Mountain West games this evening. Fresno State hosts San Diego State in hopes of retaining the oil can, and the winner of this game will have a leg up on representing the West in the Mountain West title game.

The other game is Utah State traveling about two hours down I-15 to take on in-state foe BYU. The Aggies are without quarterback Chuckie Keeton and will have the competent Darrell Garretson will be under center the rest of the way. BYU is undefeated and attempting to earn a New Year's Day bowl game, and Utah State will attempt to slow down the Taysom Hill-led offense.

Utah State at BYU, 10:15 p.m. ET, ESPN
