These two teams are considered rivals but it is Boise State who has dominated this series with an 11-3 record, and the Broncos want to avenge the game from last year where Fresno State won 4by a single point, 41-40. This Bulldogs team is much different as they do not have Derek Carr at quarterback, and most recently were upset in overtime by UNLV.
Fresno State will need to find a way to stop running back Jay Ajayi and not just on the ground but also in the passing game as well. Broncos quarterback Grant Hedrick as the tendency to be erratic and Fresno State's front seven needs to get pressure on Hedrick and make him uncomfortable in the pocket.
When Fresno State has the ball, they need quarterback Brian Burrell to get the ball to wide receiver Josh Harper. The Boise State secondary is one of the better in the Mountain West by being able to accumulate interceptions, yet they also can give up yards form time to time.
Fresno State will need a huge game on both sides of the ball if they are to upset Boise State at home.
