Mountain West tournament: Title game set between San Diego State, Wyoming

San Diego State will take on Wyoming in the Mountain West title game.

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The championship game is set for the Mountain West tournament and the top seed is nowhere to be found. No. 2 seeded San Diego State easily took care of Colorado State, who was without J.J. AvilaWyoming upset top seeded Boise State, 71-66, in the first semi-final game.

San Diego State used their patented defense to take care of Colorado State by limiting them to under 35 percent from the field for the game, and overall dominated the Rams.

Also, the Aztecs had a big offensive effort from Dwayne Polee, Winston Shepard and Aqeel Quinn combining for 44 points, and all three scored in double figures.

Wyoming had a big crowd advantage against Boise State which was attributed to the win over Boise State by head coach Larry Shyatt. Josh Adams had a huge game with 20 of his 27 points in the first half in the win, and Larry Nance, Jr. also had a big game with 20 points.

The Aztecs won both meetings this year but the second meeting had Wyoming without Nance who missed the game with mono. It seems that Nance is pretty close to being back at full strength during the win over Boise State.

The Cowboys have the momentum and know that if they win they are in the NCAA tournament, but the Aztecs are safe regardless of the outcome of this title game.

This game will tip off at 6 p.m. ET and be on CBS and streaming on CBSSports.com
