Mountain West basketball tournament: Day 1 bracket, TV schedule, preview

The Mountain West tournament kicks off with a pair of opening round games on Wednesday afternoon.

The 2015 Mountain West tournament tips off on Wednesday afternoon in the opening round game. This first set of games feature two traditional Mountain West powers with New Mexico and UNLV in this first set of games, but they are not playing each other.

New Mexico will face Air Force and UNLV will take on Nevada. UNLV is the most likely of this group of teams to make some serious noise in the Mountain West tournament. It does help the Rebels that the tournament is being held on their home court at the Thomas and Mack Center.

Air Force and New Mexico played twice this year with each team winning a game. UNLV and Nevada also split the season series this year, so this is the rubber match for these two rivals.

Wednesday, March 11

Game 2: No. 7 UNLV vs. No. 10 Nevada, 5:30 p.m. ET (Mountain West Network) UNLV is a nine-point home favorite.
