When the Boise State Bronco’s travel to San Diego today it will be a match up between the two top teams in the Mountain West Conference. Boise has won 11 out of their last 12 and currently on a three game win streak. Boise State’s last victim was the Lobos from New Mexico last Tuesday. The Aztecs on the other hand are red hot. They are currently ranked 24th in the nation and a win today may propel them even closer to a crucial top seed in the tournament. San Diego State has lost just three games since December 17. One of those three games however was to Boise State. On February 8 the Bronco’s took care of the Aztecs by a score of 61-46.
Players to Watch:
Boise State: Nick Duncan is my player to watch for the Bronco’s. Duncan made eight three pointers on his way to 28 points in Boise’s last contest against New Mexico State. This also came with help from Derrick Marks who added thirty points.
San Diego State: I actually do not have a specific player. The Bronco’s like to shoot from beyond the arc especially Marks and Duncan. The Aztecs rank third in the nation in points allowed and 64th in steals per game. They need to force turnovers and run to try and tire out Boise.
Where to Watch: ESPN2 and WatchESPN
Fun Fact: Both teams most recent losses were to the hands of the Fresno State Bulldogs. They are both hoping they don’t see Fresno in Vegas come Mountain West Tournament time. Talk about Kryptonite.
Prediction: I really think Boise State is a tournament team and they show up today behind a strong game from Marks. They go into California and win a close one 65-61.
