Game preview: The Aztecs look to dominate the Spartans
What to watch for: Malik Pope doing his thing
The Aztec freshman is officially the most exciting player in the Mountain West, and all eyes should be on him going against the inferior Spartan defense. Pope, at 6-10, is a rare blend of outside shooting, speed, size and raw athleticism, much like a young Texas freshman named Kevin Durant was. San Jose State has been dealt a lot of blows this year with suspension and injury, and it only has eight healthy players on its roster. Look for SDSU to exploit the lack of depth and for Pope to have a lot of fun with it.
