San Diego State vs. Wyoming final score: Aztecs dominate short-handed Cowboys 67-41

This one was over almost as soon as it began.

The San Diego State Aztecs (19-6, 9-3 Mountain West) stepped on the gas early and never let up as they beat the short-handed Wyoming Cowboys (19-6, 8-4 MW) 67-41.

SDSU began the game on a 25-5 scoring run, headlined by lights-out 3-point shooting from Aqeel Quinn, Matt Shrigley and Winston Shepard.

Wyoming desperately missed Larry Nance, Jr., who has mononucleosis and didn't make the trip to San Diego. The Cowboys looked out of sync all 40 minutes and committed turnovers on the night.

Quinn and Shepard each had highlight games, both finishing with 18 points.

Derek Cooke, Jr. led the Cowboys with 13 points.

SDSU paid tribute to the late Tony Gwynn before the game. Tony Gwynn, Jr. led The Show in the "I Believe" chant, and Anisha Nicole, Gwynn's daughter, sang the national anthem. Gwynn, who played point guard at SDSU, holds the record for mosts assists in Aztec basketball history.

Former Aztecs Jamaal Franklin and Stephen Strasberg were also in attendance tonight.
