Tonight the San Diego State Aztecs (11-4, 1-1 Mountain West) host arguably their biggest conference rival in the New Mexico Lobos (10-4, 1-1 Mountain West).
SDSU head coach Steve Fisher, senior forward J.J. O'Brien and senior guard Aqeel Quinn held a press conference yesterday to discuss the team's offensive woes, its loss at Fresno State and its upcoming big game against New Mexico.
"I'll tell you what I told the team on Saturday night; we got what we deserved," Fisher said. "We were outplayed by a team that we're better than. Excuses are unacceptable. The proof will be in how we play (Tuesday against New Mexico)."
Quinn also told reporters the team found something that clicked on offense during its 17-0 scoring run in the second half, but he wouldn't reveal what it was.
"We found something, but that's for us to know and you to see," he said with a smile
