AJ West hit two free throws at the 9:45 mark in the second half to cut the Utah State lead to six at 48-42, and that was as close as the Wolf Pack got as the Aggies went on a 12-3 scoring run and outscored the Wolf Pack 22-12 in the final nine minutes. The Aggies defeated the Wolf Pack 70-54 in Reno on Tuesday night.
The Wolf Pack could not stop Aggies forward Jalen Moore as the freshman forward scored 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds and went 4-4 from three point land (Moore hit three of his four threes in the second half to propel the Aggies scoring run). David Collette and Chris Smith were the other two Aggies who scored in double figures as both players scored ten points each.The Aggies went 7 for 15 from three point land while the Wolf Pack only went 2 for 18 from bonus land.
AJ West had another solid game scoring 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Nevada and Tyron Criswell scored nine points off the bench but the rest of Nevada's starters scored a combined 15 points and went 7 for 33 from the field. Michael Perez failed to score a single point and went 0-5 from the field tonight in his 49th straight start.
With the loss, Nevada has dropped three straight games their conference record drops to 2-3 with an overall record of 6-11 while the Aggies improve to a 11-7 overall record and 4-2 in the Mountain West. Both teams will resume conference play on Saturday as the Aggies travel to Las Vegas to face UNLV while the Wolf Pack travel to Fresno to play the Bulldogs.
