The Broncos were competitive throughout the game but in the end, it was too much Larry Nance Jr. as the senior forward led all Cowboys scorers with 18 points as Wyoming defeated Boise State 65-54 giving the Cowboys their sixth straight win in a row. Nance played an all around great game as he grabbed ten rebounds, blocked four shots and chipped in with four assists as well.
The Cowboys got great play from their guards: Josh Adams and Riley Grabau. Adams scored 16 points and went 4 for 7 from three point range and Grabau chipped in 15 points and went 10 for 10 from the free throw line as he made some crucial free throws in the final minutes of the game to finish off the Broncos.
As a team, the Cowboys shot 53 percent from the field and limited the Broncos to only 40 percent shooting from the field. Derrick Marks lead all Broncos scorers with 16 points and James Webb III scored 15 points and went 5 for 7 from three points range to keep the Broncos in the game but it was not enough as the Broncos dropped their fourth straight game.
With the win, the Cowboys record improves to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in the Mountain West while the Broncos drop to a 10-6 overall record and are 0-3 in the Mountain West.
The Cowboys host San Diego State on Wednesday night in Laramie while the Broncos head back home to host the UNLV Runnin' Rebels on Tuesday night.
