The Wyoming Cowboys were led by a great performance by quarterback Brett Smith who had five total touchdowns -- four throwing and one rushing -- en route to a 42-10 win over the Idaho Vandals. Smith now has 72 total touchdowns which is a school record, the prior record was 70 and belonged to former Cowboy quarterback Casey Bramlet who had 70.
This game did feature a half-hour rain delay but that did not slow down Smith who completed 22 of 38 passes for 295 yards, and he rushed for another 64, including a 50 yard scamper. The receivers for Wyoming also had a big game, Robert Herron caught five passes for 123 yards and Dominic Rufran had five receptions for 61 yards and three scores.
The running attack also saw a great performance from Shaun Wick who had 110 yards and averaged 7.3 yards per carry, and Brandon Miller put up 61 yards on the ground.
This game was never in doubt as Wyoming scored the first 42 points of the game, and that was just through three quarters of play. Yes, Idaho is a bad football but Wyoming loss to a FCS team in 2012 and finished with just four games last year, but this is still a big win for Wyoming.
