With Boise State's loss to Washington they are not longer ranked and are not in position to make a BCS bowl bid, at least not now. All hope is not loss for a Mountain West team to make a BCS bid, just look back to last season where Northern Illinois made a BCS bid with one loss.
Right now Fresno State and San Jose State are looking to be the best options in the Mountain West, both are both undefeated. With the latest simulated BCS standings from the BCS Guru, San Jose State is the highest rated Mountain West team at 32, yet Boise State is No. 33 and Fresno State who beat an actual BCS team in Rutgers is at No. 37. Northern Illinois is the highest rated non-BCS team at No. 30.
Here are the latest simulated standings with an explanation below.

Keys: Pvs = Previous Week;; Coach = USA Today Coaches Poll; AP = Associated Press Poll; Md = Median ranking of 24 computer ratings; JS = Jeff Sagarin; KM* = Kenneth Massey MOV; RB = Richard Billingsley; Cp Avg = Computer Average.
Explanation: This rankings method is a simulation of the actual BCS standings with the following variations: 1) The AP Poll is used in place of the Harris Interactive Poll, which is not published until after the first weekend of October; 2) Three of the six BCS computer ratings are available - Jeff Sagarin, Kenneth Massey and Richard Billingsley; 3) The other three computer ratings - Anderson & Hester, Colley Matrix and Peter Wolfe - will not be available until mid-September or October, so they're replaced by the median ranking of 24 computer ratings.
