Week 6 College Football Rankings, USA Today Coaches Poll: Fresno State Up to No. 21

Fresno State moved up two spots in the USA Today Coaches Poll following another win on Saturday.

The USA Today Coaches Poll has been a bit friendlier to Fresno State than the AP Poll has thus far, and that holds true once again with the release of today's rankings. Fresno is no. 21 in the latest USA Today rankings, versus no. 23 in the AP. In both polls, losses by Wisconsin and Notre Dame, respectively, at the bottom of last week's rankings helped set up the slight move up for the Bulldogs. They had a total of 270 votes, which put them significantly behind Oklahoma State (330) at no. 20, while also significantly ahead of Texas Tech (231) at no. 22. No other Mountain West Conference teams received votes, though fellow non-AQ Northern Illinois (MAC) also appeared in the poll this week at no. 23. See the full rankings below:
