The Air Force Academy is saying that quarterback Jaleel Awini is “no longer in good standing,” in a release on Wednesday. The statement concludes that Awini is also "not allowed to represent the Academy in outside activities." One of those activities is football.
The news was first broken in a tweet by Brent Briggeman:
Breaking: Air Force QB Jaleel Awini no longer a "cadet in good standing" and can't play for Falcons, effective immediately.

The backup quarterback is sophomore Karson Roberts and it will be up to him to take the Falcons (1-3, 0-3 MWC) to Mackay Stadium in Reno this week to take on the Nevada Wolf Pack (2-2, 1-0 MWC). Roberts has had limited action in three games this season as backup, but he is 3 of 6 through the air for 85 yards and 2 TDs. He has also rushed 4 times for 14 yards.
Roberts will be the third quarterback Falcons head coach Troy Calhoun will have started this season. Awini replaced Kale Pearson after an ACL injury ended his season, and now Awini will be replaced as well. Awini was 21 of 42 in passing 275 yards this season and rushed for 220 yards and four touchdowns.
