Jaylen Johnson is a southern California star defensive lineman from Centennial HS, Corona, CA. As a junior last season he earned all-CIF and 2nd team all-state honors after a season that totaled 113 tackles and four sacks, and this season he already has 35 tackles and 2 sacks to his credit. Rivals.com has him ranked as the #28 DE in the country so it's no wonder dozens of teams had an interest in him and schools like Notre Dame, CAL, Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon had offers for him. And so did Boise State.

Johnson kept narrowing down his list over the summer and last week made an official visit to Oregon where he made up his mind.

"He liked Oregon but just felt Boise State was the best fit for him,” Centennial HS coach Matt Logan told Scout.com. “He’s a very mature kid and made a mature decision. He took a visit to Boise State over the summer and just really felt comfortable there. Oregon is not an easy school to say no but for Jaylen, I think it came down to where he felt like he fit in the best and that was at Boise State.”

Johnson’s commitment brings the Broncos’ 2014 class to 12.
