2013 Week 3 Mountain West Football Odds: Bye Weeks Are Nice

Teams that desperately need a bye week are getting one, while Chris looks to build off a successful Week 2.

Week 2 Record: 8-3

Season Record: 10-10

Have you all gotten a chance to place your bets yet? No? Alright, well here's some guidelines on how to bet Week 3 quickly before tonight's matchup.

All times are listed in Pacific Time Zone.

5:00 PM: Air Force at Boise State (-24), O/U=57.5- Boise State is coming off a huge blowout win against a FCS team, while Air Force looked like a FCS team and got completely blown out by Utah State. Here's a chance for BSU to regain their power rankings lead in the Mountain Division.

My Pick-Boise State to cover- Air Force's rushing defense may rack up heavy yards like last time, but it seems that the motivational spark is back for BSU.

9:30 AM: New Mexico at Pitt (-23), O/U=50- Kasey Carrier is a beast and Clayton Mitchem looks to build off last weeks performance. In the meantime, Pitt is looking to pick themselves up after a rude introduction to the ACC.

My Pick-New Mexico beats the spread- Pitt couldn't stop anything the Seminoles were throwing at them, and if Carrier can continue his performance from last week, Pitt will be frantically looking for ways to kill the game.

Fresno State at Colorado: POSTPONED

12:30 PM: Nevada at Florida State (-35.5), O/U=64.5- My biggest realization is the box score of this game will be eerily similar to that of the Nevada-UCLA game. The Wolf Pack will score, but Florida State will just absolutely dominate this game.

My Pick-Nevada beats the spread- Don't get me wrong, this game won't be close, but betting a 36 point victory is dangerous, and Nevada is not as bad as San Diego State. Also, Brock Hekking's mullet will not allow this.

12:30 PM: Cal Poly at Colorado State (-7.5)- I really don't know what to make of this game. Cal Poly is a good FCS team, and didn't give up after getting pummeled by Fresno State's first team. Colorado State has now TWICE, snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.

My Pick-Cal Poly beats the spread- SIT DOWN RAM FANS. Until Colorado State can prove to me that they can win a game, this spread is actually too much for them.

1:00 PM: Northern Colorado at Wyoming (-26), O/U=59.5- Brett Smith. Moving on...

My Pick-Wyoming covers easily- Do I need a reason other than Brett Smith? Okay fine, here's 3 more: Robert Herron, Dominic Rufran and Shaun Wick.

5:00 PM: Weber State at Utah State (-36.5), O/U=64.5- #ChuckieKeeton4Heisman continues in this game.

My Pick-Utah State covers- DID YOU NOT SEE WHAT UTAH DID TO WEBER STATE? This is an entirely reasonable pick. Also, a better over/under for this game is Chuckie Keeton's total yards (O/U=500).

7:00 PM: Central Michigan at UNLV (-7.5), O/U=54- UNLV is finally favored in a game: THEY NEED TO WIN THIS GAME FOR GOODNESS SAKE. If the Rebels lose this game, UNLV will be looking at a certain unsuccessful coach to lead them.

My Pick-UNLV covers- I believe in UNLV. No, really, I do! The Great Pumpkin is REAL, Charlie Brown! There's zero logic to this pick, except for the fact that CMU had to score 17 points in the 4th quarter to come back and beat New Hampshire.
