Nevada Quarterback Cody Fajardo Day-to-Day Ahead of FSU Game

Nevada is heading into Doak Campbell Stadium this Saturday and could be without their star quarterback.

The Nevada Wolf Pack this week will make the trip to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles of Florida State. Heading into the game as a big underdog already, the outlook for Nevada could be even worse following coach Brian Polian's announcement that star quarterback Cody Fajardo is day-to-day with a right sprained knee. Fajardo took a hit from a UC Davis defender during the second quarter of what was an eventual 36-7 win. Despite the hit, Fajardo continued to play and had an impressive game, throwing for 239 yards and two touchdowns while completing 18 of his 21 pass attempts.

Fajardo will be limited during practice this week, and if he cannot play against the Seminoles, backup quarterback Devin Combs will get the start. Against UC Davis in garbage time, Combs went 3 of 6 with 29 and additionally ran for 29 yards. Combs has proven he is capable of leading a team to victory. Last year in his only start, again due to a Fajardo injury, Combs lead a comeback victory against UNLV going 14-19 with 167 and two touchdowns as well as 111 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Last year in total Combs was 25-39 with four touchdowns and one interception.
