Hawaii sticking with Taylor Graham as their starting quarterback

Ohio State transfer quarterback Taylor Graham struggled in his first start for Hawaii in their 30-13 loss against USC on Thursday night. Graham completed only 16 of 41 for 208 yards with four interceptions and one touchdown. With the performance there were some Hawaii fans wanting to go back to Sean Schroeder.

Well, head coach Norm Chow will have none of that and is staying with Graham at quarterback. Chow's reasoning is that he likes the potential he see's in Graham and also from evaluations. This is a minor surprise since Graham threw four interceptions, or at least a surprise that it came so quickly.

Maybe Graham was just nervous playing in his first-ever college football game, which has been a few years in the making since he did not play at Ohio State and he had to sit out a year due to transfer rules.

Hawaii does play at Oregon State next week, and it would only seem to be fair to allow Graham to get another start before questions arise about if he is the man at quarterback. It also helps that Oregon State lost to Eastern Washington in their first game and could be an easier opponent than initially thought.

Keeping Graham under center is the right choice, because flip-flopping back and forth can only lead to terrible results.
