The Mountain West Connection's Jeremy Mauss is reporting that CBS will televise the inaugural Mountain West football championship game on Saturday, December 7, at 8 p.m. MT. That has been verified by CBSSports.com. The agreement calls for a multiyear contract between CBS and the Mountain West.

The MW championship game will follow the SEC championship game also on CBS. The SEC game will kick off at 2 p.m. MT. The Big Ten and Pac-12 title games are also scheduled that day, but the Pac-12 game will kickoff at 5:45-6 p.m. MT on either ESPN or ABC, and the Big Ten will be at 6:17 p.m. MT on FOX. The Mountain West game is scheduled to be the last game of the day.

This will be the first ever Mountain West Championship in the new 12-team MW league. The game will feature a showdown between the winner of the Mountain Division against the winner of the West Division and played in the highest ranked team’s home stadium.
