2013 Nagurski watch list: Pair of Mountain West players earn honors

The Nagurski award is given to the nation's best defender, which is exactly the same as the Bednarik award.

The Nagurski watch list honors the nation's best defender, oddly enough that is the same as the Bednarik award. This latest watch list has just two Mountain West players on this particular defensive list. Those two players are San Jose State defensive back Bene Benwikere and the other is Boise State's defensive lineman Demarcus Lawrence.

Neither Benwikere or Lawrence made the Bednarik watch list, and both are deserving of being named among one of the nation's best defenders. Now will either win, probably not because this award will likely go to Jadeveon Clowney.
