Fresno State fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as the Fresno Bee reported Monday morning that athletic director Thomas Boeh has withdrawn his name from consideration for the same position at Rutgers.
Boeh, as well as Louisville executive senior associate athletic director Julie Hermann and Wisconsin deputy athletic director Sean Frazier, had traveled to New Jersey to meet with the committee tasked with replacing Tim Pernetti, who resigned in April following his complicity in the Mike Rice scandal.
However, Boeh reaffirmed his commitment in a university press release, saying that he "[looks] forward to the very bright future of the Fresno State Bulldogs."
With Boeh staying on as Fresno State's athletic director, he will begin his eighth year on the job
The Scarlet Knights will have to look to Hermann or Frazier, if not elsewhere, for their next athletic director, as the search committee is scheduled to vote on the official replacement later this week.
