Boise State Men’s Hoops Adds another Aussie

Leon Rice has gone back to Australia to add a top recruit to his basketball team. This time it was to sign 6-foot-8, 210 lb., Nick Duncan, a forward from the Australian Institute of Sport.

The eighteen year old Duncan was on the 2012 Australian team that earned the silver medal at the U17 World Championships in a finish where the young Aussie led the team with 8.0 rebounds per game. Duncan will join two other Broncos dribblers from down under, Anthony Drmic and Igor Hadziomerovic.

“I think he brings a lot to the table,” Broncos coach Leon Rice said about Duncan. “[He] gives you some size, gives you some toughness.”

Duncan is the fourth recruit Rice has added to his 2013 squad this year. The Broncos added guard Dezmyn Trent, 6-3, out of Tacoma, Washington on Wednesday, while junior college transfers James Web III, 6-9, 190, of Los Angles and Darnell Taylor,6-4, 190, of Augusta, Georgia were signed in November.
