The San Diego St. Aztecs are losing two-time All-American Jamaal Franklin to the NBA Draft. The 6-foot-5 guard led the team in scoring 17 with points per game, and also led the team in rebounding at 9.5 per contest. Franklin was thought to leave for the NBA Draft last season but he stuck around one more to see if he could lead San Diego State on another NCAA tournament run -- that didn't end all that well.
The projections call for Franklin to be a possible first round draft pick, somewhere in the middle rounds. DraftExpress predicts Franklin as the 25th best prospect as does ESPN's Chad Ford and over at CBS Sports they have Franklin as the 35th pick in their mock draft.
As mentioned prior, Franklin is versatile yet a player without a true position and plays usually guard or forward. He makes up for that with his athleticism on the court. The one real issue that could hurt Franklin's draft stock is that his three-point shooting is not great, he shot just 28 percent last year and just 30.4 percent during his three-year career.
