2013 NBA Draft: UNLV's Anthony Bennett makes it official

UNLV freshman Anthony Bennett officially announced that he is forgoing his final three years of eligibility to head to the NBA.

UNLV freshman Anthony Bennett ended the worst kept serious by officially announcing that he is entering the 2013 NBA Draft. Bennett made it official at an emotional press conference on Monday afternoon:

"I'm here to announce that I'm declaring for the 2013 NBA Draft," Bennett said.

"As you can see I have mixed emotions about this," Bennett said. "It's not the easiest decision I've made in my life but I'm pretty happy about it."

During his only season with the Rebels, Bennett led the team in scoring with 16.1 points and rebounding 8.1 rebounds. He was named the Mountain West's freshman of the year and a member of the first-team.

As for the draft pundits Bennett is a lock to be a lottery pick for the NBA Draft on June 27, and most likely he will be a top-five draft pick.

Next up for Bennett is for him to hire an agent and then also attend the Chicago NBA Draft Combine from May 15-19.

As of now, the early mock drafts have Bennet going fifth overall, and he is also widely considered the fourth best prospect in this upcoming draft.
