Boise State added another cornerback for their 2013 class when they flipped wide receiver Cameron Hartsfield (Allen, Texas/Allen). Hartsfield was previously committed to Nevada just the week prior, and also had offers from UT-San Antonio and Stephen F. Austin.
The recruiting services do not have ratings on Hartsfield was the MVP this past season the Texas 5A state title game where he had nine tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown.
This is odd to see a player who was MVP of such a high profile game to be under recruited, and not rated, however his poor junior season also hurt him from getting recruited from higher profile programs. However, that motivated Hartsfield to step up his game, and if he keeps that chip on his shoulder he could prove to be an excellent player down the road.
Hartsfield kept his options open through the recruiting process, but chose Boise State after taking his visit:
"I was still open to all my options and Boise State came in late," he said. "I just wanted to check them out. I ended up loving it there."
