Wyoming RB Brandon Miller to miss spring with possible broken arm

The running back position for Wyoming during spring football just got a little lighter as Brandon Miller suffered a non-football injury, and will miss all of spring football.

Troy Babbitt-US PRESSWIRE

The Wyoming Cowboys received some bad news this week when running back Brandon Miller "suffered in an injury in an accident" which was not football related. The suspected injury is a broken arm -- head coach Dave Christensen would not reveal the full extend of the injury -- and it will keep him out of all of spring practice.

Miller had bounced around at running back as well as wide receiver over the past two seasons, and last year he rushed for 352 yards and a touchdown, as well as catching 30 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns.

This injury comes at the worst time since Miller was to contend for the starting running back job with D.J. May and Shaun Wick. Cowboy Altidue also mentions a possible sleeper candidate in Omar Stover who enrolled in school early this past January after graduating early from Bollingbrook High School in Illinois.

Miller will now need to rehab and get ready for summer conditioning, and then impress coaches in fall camp in order to earn the starting nod or significant playing. Playing time should not be a real issue for Miller since he is so versatile to the offense, but landing the starting job is going to be difficult with this injury.
