Earlier this week the Aztecs also picked up a commitment from a junior college defensive back. According to Rivals, Na'Im McGee a 6-foot-1, 195 pounder committed to SDSU from Diablo Valley College. McGee will help provide immediate help to replenish the secondary from graduation losses of team MVP Nate Behre, Gabe Lemon, Eric Pinkins, Marcus Andrews and Rene Siluano.

SDSU loses three starters and two primary backups to graduation at the end of this season.

McGee picked SDSU over offers from Nevada, Wyoming and San Jose State.

According to Rivals.com, McGee said, "I picked SDSU over Nevada, San Jose State and Wyoming. Out of high school, I didn't like people holding offers until the last minute because you are kind of holding other kids back from being recruited and making schools wait on what you do." McGee was reported to be his high schools Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year. And was an all-state, all region, all league selection and elected to the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame as a Defensive Back.

McGee said he was getting recruited heavily out of high school by Oregon and USC but didn't get an offer.  He went on to say "it just wasn't meant to be at the time. Junior college definitely helped me out. It got me stronger learning the position. That's why I played corner in junior college, to prove that I can cover. Maybe that was the difference."

When asked about signing day and how he feels about the recruitment process, McGee said "It definitely feels good. I'm not sure it all has hit me yet. I have a scholarship; it feels amazing to know that I have one. I always pushed for this and I worked hard for it.

I'm going to bring versatility. I'm a very physical player and I can be a leader. I really want to get a starting spot and be a leader on the field and try to get us to another bowl game."

The Aztecs will need that versatility in Rocky Longs 3-3-5 defense, as he has big shoes to fill from the loss of Behre, Lemon and Pinkins in the Aztec secondary. It may have been a rough start for Aztec defenders but they all came on strong at the end of the season to win seven and out of their last nine.
