Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin: 'We're coming home'

Idaho native Bryan Harsin is excited to come home to be the next head coach at Boise State.

After reports were saying that Bryan Harsin would stay as head coach at Arkansas State, things changed in a hurry and he is now the next head coach with the Boise St. Broncos. Harsin's is a native of Idaho as he grew up in the area, played quarterback for the Broncos, coached at Boise State and then he branched out to other job opportunities.

Harsin and his wife are glad to be back in Boise:

"We're coming home," Harsin said in the Boise State press release. "(My wife) Kes and I are thrilled about returning to Boise State, it's a special place built by special people. One of the hardest decisions we ever made was leaving Boise. We did that so I could become a better coach, so I could one day have the opportunity to return as head coach - that day has arrived. "I appreciate the history and tradition of the Boise State program," Harsin continued. "I embrace that success but won't rest on it. We will build this program every day with a sense of urgency. I can't wait to get to work."

Harsin has come full circle by being back at Boise State and he a very good hire and even though former Boise State head coach Dirk Koetter interviewed well, but it was probably for the best that the Broncos did not rehire Koetter. Harsin also was on staff and recruited some of the current players, so he will not be a completely new guy in the locker room.

No press conference has been set with all parties, but President Bob Kustra did make a statement:

"I am very excited to welcome Bryan Harsin back to Bronco Nation. His return is great news for all of us who do not want to lose momentum with the national reputation the program has achieved. We hear time and time again from current and former players and coaches that the Boise State system is unique in its discipline, rigor and innovation - on the field and in the classroom. And Coach Harsin knows and understands the Boise State way as much as anyone. As we write the next chapter of Bronco football history, I know it will continue to bring distinction to Boise State University."

Next up for Boise State is to figure out who Harsin will hire to fill out the rest of the coaching staff, and if any of the current staffers will remain employed..
