Another candidate has emerged in the sweepstakes to be the next Boise State head coach, and it is a somewhat of a surprise. The coach that interviewed is former Cal head coach Jeff Tedford and the Idaho Statesman learned of the interviewed on Tuesday.
However, Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports says that he has learned that Tedford has not interviewed for the Boise State opening.
Tedford's name was linked to the Wyoming job last week but he obviously did not get that job. He has been out of coaching for a year since he was let go at the end of the 2012 season after a few subpar seasons leading to a 3-9 record last year. Tedford is of course known as a quarterback guru and has sent 10 quarterbacks to the NFL who were first round draft picks.
In other Boise State coaching news, Dirk Koetter is seemed to be the favorite and possibly Justin Wilcox, but there are also internal candidates with linebackers coach Bob Gregory and offensive line coach Chris Strausser.
