Fresno State DB Derron Smith up for the Lott Impact player of the week

Fresno State DB Derron Smith once again earned a nomination for the Lott Impact player of the week.

Fresno State had a huge win over Wyoming this past week by blowing out Wyoming Saturday night, 48-10. While quarterback Derek Carr lit up the Wyoming defense, the Fresno State defense had an equally dominating performance by allowing just 10 points.

This is Smith's sixth nomination for this award, yet he has come up short in the weekly voting. To help Smith win his first Lott Impact player of the week award head on over to its website and vote for Smith.

Smith also is one of the quarterfinalist for the end of the year Lott Impact Trophy award.

Here are the Week 11 nominees and their stats from this past week:

Chris Borland (LB, Wisconsin): Had a game high 13 tackles, 2 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss in win over BYU, 27-17.

Ifo Ekpe-Olomu (DB, Oregon): Had 12 tackles and forced a fumble in loss to Stanford, 26-20.

Eric Kendricks (LB, UCLA): Had a team high 13 tackles and broke up one pass in a win over Arizona, 31-26.

C.J. Mosley (LB, Alabama): Led the Tide with 13 tackles, broke up one pass and played every defensive play in a win over LSU, 38-17.

Derron Smith (S, Fresno State): Intercepted his 5th pass of the season and returned it 36 yards. Smith also had a tackle for loss in a  win over Wyoming, 38-10.
