2013 Week 6 Mountain West Football Odds: We're Not On Bye Week

With 5 teams on bye week this week, Chris only has 6 games to improve his mediocre record.

Marco Garcia-USA TODAY Sports

Week 5 Record: 3-5

Overall Record: 17-18

This is easily the worst I've ever done on picks, but at the same time, it has been a strange year.  This week we have 6 games, starting with two matches tonight.

Have you all gotten a chance to place your bets yet? No? Alright, well here's some guidelines on how to bet Week 6 quickly before tonight's matchups.

All times are listed in Pacific Time Zone.

5:00 PM: BYU at Utah State (-6), O/U-56- If you were listening to last night's podcast, you would know this game comes down to two matchups: Chuckie Keeton vs. BYU's front-7 and Taysom Hill vs. USU's front-7.  TWO QUARTERBACKS ENTER, ONLY ONE LEAVES.

My Pick-Aggies cover- I know BYU has had Keeton's number the past two years, but expect the junior to tear up the secondary as long he gets time to throw the ball.

6:00 PM: Nevada at San Diego State (-6), O/U-59- The Aztecs are bad, but Nevada's defense is just as bad.  The important thing about this game is Cody Fajardo's performance.  He needs to be pre-injury form in order for the Wolf Pack to win.

My Pick-Wolf Pack beat the spread and win- Muema is back, but RUNNING BACK CONTROVERSY gives Donnel Pumphrey the edge.  There will be plenty of points scored in this game, but I think the Fajardo effect takes hold and Nevada wins this game.

8:30 PM: Air Force at Navy (-12), O/U-55- THE GOVERNMENT CAN'T SHUT DOWN COLLEGE FOOTBALL! Private funding has allowed this game to occur (THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE!) and for that, we here at Mountain West Connection are very happy.  That being said, Air Force's Karson Roberts has to take hold of the offense if the Falcons want to win this game.  On the other hand, Navy's Keenan Reynolds has looked outstanding this year and therefore the Falcon defense NEEDS to stop him.

My Pick-Navy covers- In this triple-option delicious morsel of a game, Air Force won't be able to stop Reynolds and therefore the Midshipmen will win by two touchdowns.

2:00 PM: Fresno State (-27) at Idaho, O/U-67- Derek Carr versus Idaho defense.  The only thing that can stop him is the stench of nasty and inebriated Vandal fans.

My Pick-Fresno State covers- Fresno State's secondary is not good, but come on...IT'S IDAHO.  Fresno by at least 5 touchdowns.

4:00 PM: New Mexico State at New Mexico (-11), O/U-60- RIO GRANDE RIVALRY! THERE'S HIGH STAKES! PRIDE! EXCITEMENT! FOOTBAW!  Oh, who's kidding...the Lobos ran nearly 500 yards last week against UNLV and still lost and the Aggies are pretty much hopeless.

My Pick-Lobos cover- Footbaw Bawb will not allow the Aggies to get near the endzone this game and Kasey Carrier will have a 300-yard performance.

9:00 PM: San Jose State (-4.5) at Hawaii, O/U-55.5- San Jose State has been plagued with injury and inability to score touchdowns in the redzone.  Hawaii showed an electrical surge last week nearly coming back against a ranked Fresno State.  The Spartans better watch out.

My Pick- San Jose State covers- Even though Jeremy is picking this as his stupid upset pick in the podcast, I'm not ready to take Warrior bait.  David Fales will lead the Spartans to a touchdown victory.
