How 2014 verbal commit Goodluck Okonoboh fits in with UNLV

Now that UNLV has landed Goodluck Okonoboh, how does he fit in with the Rebels.

The UNLV Runnin' Rebels 2014 basketball recruiting class is off to a hot start with commits from five-star small forward Dwayne Morgan, and now most recently four-star center Goodluck Okonoboh. This could end up being one of the best classes ever for UNLV, and one of the best in the country if things continue on this trend.

As for Okonoboh, he is a 'small' 6'9" center but despite that lack of size for a center he is considered a great shot blocker, and that is after spending the past year working on his overall defensive game. He is an offensive threat and the style of play when UNLV has the ball is what really made the difference for picking UNLV over Ohio State and Indiana.

Okonoboh is an athletic player who can finish strong to the rim with easy layups and dunks to finish a possession by taking advantage of second-chance opportunities. He is good at catching various types of passes into the low post, and he while he is good on offense Okonoboh is still working on his post-up game as well as his short and face-up jumpers.

He fits in very nicely with UNLV's extremely fast pace style of play due to Okonoboh's ability to get rebounds and block shots. Those skills can get a fast break going in a hurry and likely convert some easy buckets. With UNLV losing Carlos Lopez-Sosa, and possibly Khem Birch to the NBA Draft, those departures will free up Okonoboh to be the man player in the front court as a sophomore and beyond, depending on how long he stays at UNLV.
