Initial BCS Standings Released

The BCS's last gasp began tonight with the reveal of the initial top 25.

After eight weekends and lots of speculation, the first set of BCS rankings were released earlier this evening. Fresno State is the only Mountain West team in the top 25, but it appears the computers think the Bulldogs have some work to do, not only to slide into the top 16 but to stay ahead of Northern Illinois. Two of the rankings don't include Fresno in its top 25, and the only remedy for this is winning.

The two big surprises are probably Florida State beginning the BCS hunt ahead of Oregon and Auburn threatening to crash the top 10 after an abysmal 2012. Here is the first ranking, table courtesy of Luke Zimmerman.
