Mock MWC 2013-14 Basktball Schedule

The MWC announces a new, 18 game schedule.

The Branding Source

With the announcement of the MWC becoming a 12 team league with two divisions, MWC Basketball seemed to lose it's place in the flurry of changes. Basketball is often overlooked in conference realignment, though one must wonder what the new MWC basketball schedule will look like, with the additions of Utah State and San Jose State. The MWC announced earlier this week that all 11 basketball institutions will partake in an 18 game season, 8 home and away games and a rotation with two other opponents.

With such an odd and unused format, we have made up a mock schedule for New Mexico and what their schedule would look like.

New Mexico:

Home: Air Force, Colorado State, Boise State, Utah State, Wyoming, UNLV, San Diego State, Nevada, Fresno State

Away: Air Force, Colorado State, Boise State, Utah State, Wyoming, UNLV, San Diego State, Nevada, San Jose State

Since rivalries like New Mexico and San Diego State may be effected with the new scheduling change, we find it fit that their could be protected cross-divisional rivalries for home and home play. Here is a list of what it would be. The rivalries would be decided on geographic locations and competitiveness.

SDSU: New Mexico, Utah State, Colorado State
