The Boise St. Broncos are getting some 2013 preseason rankings pub by various media outlets, and Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com is no different as he has the Broncos ranked No. 15 for next season:
Now that the conference thing is settled -- we think -- the Broncos have to prove they can keep the momentum going. They haven't won an outright conference title since 2009. Joe Southwick seems poised for a monster senior season. Who knew the Broncos were No. 7 in sacks last season?
The offense can not get any worse than last season, and by saying it was bad is due to prior years of the offense being one of the best in the country. Placing Boise State at No. 15 seems a bit high even though the 2012 team went 11-2, again. It is a sign of respect that Boise State will be ranked in 2013, but my opinion is that Boise State should be in the 20s area.
As in the ESPN rankings, here are the ranked teams that Mountain West schools are facing.
Air Force vs. No. 10 Notre Dame
Colorado State at No. 2 Alabama
Nevada vs. No. 5 Oregon
Nevada at No. 13 Florida State
San Diego State at No. 4 Ohio State
San Diego State vs. No. 14 Oregon State
Wyoming at No. 22 Nebraska
San Jose State at No. 3 Stanford
