Week 3 of Mountain West Conference play sets up as a pivotal week for several teams, not the least of which is the No. 19/21 New Mexico Lobos, who stand as the only undefeated team in league play after a light week last week.

But this week is a seven day set of heavy lifting for the Lobos, as well as teams like the Colorado St. Rams, UNLV Runnin' Rebels and San Diego St. Aztecs, teams that see themselves as league contenders.

The top three games of the week shake out like this:

  • No. 19/21 New Mexico at No. 15/14 San Diego St., Sat. 1/26/13, 1 p.m. PT, Viejas Arena in San Diego, Calif., NBC Sports Network: The Aztecs will be looking to regain their home court advantage against the visiting Lobos, who will be looking for a repeat of last year's upset win in Viejas Arena. If UNM takes care of business against Colorado St. Wednesday night at home, they come into Viejas undefeated and ranked.
  • Colorado St. at No. 19/21 New Mexico, Wed., 1/23/13, 6 pm MT, The Pit in Albuquerque, N.M., CBS Sports Network: Colorado St. have proven to be the league contenders they were labeled as before the season started by taking SDSU to overtime and beating UNLV in Ft. Collins on Saturday. A CSU win in The Pit ties up the league lead, with advantage to the Rams for the home win. The Lobos look to keep home court advantage. Should be a war. Stakes are high.
  • Wyoming at No. 23 UNLV, Thurs., 1/24/13, 8:15 pm PT, Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nev., CBS Sports Network: The Cowboys were written off after their loss at Fresno St. in week 1 of league play. But their domination of SDSU in Laramie Saturday shows they're still a threat. UNLV looks to regain the momentum they picked up with a win at SDSU. With both teams at 2-2 in league play, the winner will keep pace with the lead pack.
