Colorado State is back in a bowl game for the first time since 2008, and Washington State has not been to the post season since the 2003 Holiday Bowl. Both teams are on the upswing as each program has a pair of second year head coaches with Mike Leach manning the Cougars and Jim McElwain roaming the Rams sideline.
In the most simple form this game will come down to how well Colorado State's Kapri Bibbs runs the ball and if the Rams defense can do something to slow down Connor Holliday an the passing attack of Washington State. Colorado State will be hard pressed to win this game if it does go to a shootout, and while quarterback Garrett Grayson is an above average quarterback, keeping pace with a Leach-ran offense will be tough.
