LAS VEGAS - New Mexico has brought their home crowd with them.
In front of a very loud, pro-New Mexico crowd, the halftime score is 49-35 Lobos. Paul Watson and Alex Davis have been unsuccessful to stop the big front of Cameron Bairstow (12 points) and Alex Kirk (11 points). Even Kendall Williams (nine points) has been on a tear for the Lobos.
Of course, it's hard to stop a team when they're shooting 53.6%, especially when the Bulldogs are only shooting 35.5%. Tyler Johnson, last night's hero for Fresno State, has been held to two points, as has Cezar Guerrero. Marvelle Harris (eight points) and Alex Davis (nine points) have been the offense for the Bulldogs, but Davis is in foul trouble already with three fouls. It is fairly remarkable that Fresno State is only down 14 points.
We will see if the Bulldogs have a game plan to come back like they did against Air Force last night.
