The Mountain West conference is holding its annual media days for basketball, and with that comes the anticipated media poll and all-conference teams. While the 2013-14 Mountain West probably will not be as strong as last season's, but the league has some solid teams.
The New Mexico Lobos ran away as the team of the year with 23 of 24 first-place votes, and the other first-place vote went to Boise State who should be a strong contender to win the league. Boise State tied with UNLV as the leagues second-best team, and very closely followed by San Diego State. Also, people would be fools to discount a Utah State team that was won 20-plus wins in 14 straight seasons under head coach Stew Morrill.
The league will still be top-heavy and there should be a case for at least three, but likely four NCAA tournament teams. Now at the other there is San Jose State who somehow managed to not receive all last place votes, and then there is Air Force who lost all five starters from last years team.
