Air Force Falcons head coach Troy Calhoun really wants to begin a series between the Colorado Buffaloes. This topic has been brought up in the past, and I believe by Calhoun a year or two ago, and Calhoun is correct.

These two squads should play on a regular basis, odds of it being a yearly series highly unlikely since Colorado has only three non-conference games to work with, and one of those already goes to Colorado State each year.

The topic was brought up again when Calhoun was asked if this week's game against Colorado State was considered the state championship. He told he Denver Post that would not be accurate since they didn't play Colorado, and he adde that the game should at least be played on at least a semi-regular basis:

"Air Force should play Colorado, even if it was every other year," Calhoun said. "You could have something like a governor's cup. A series like that would help our high school football around the state, and it would build some good, competitive fever for the fans."

This would help create some interest within the state if Air Force could play Colorado with some sort of regularity, the two schools have not played since 1974.

This would be a good game for both teams, and there has to be a way to bring it back on an every other, or every third-year basis. This is a game fans would like to see, and it could prove who the best team in the state would be. Air Force has been the best team in the state over the past few years, and maybe longer, but this year would make for an interesting case.
