Craving some information about the Air Force Falcons for this week's game? Well here is a quick look at the Falcons, who take on UNLV in Las Vegas on Saturday.
GAME: Air Force at UNLV
WHERE: Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, NV
DATE/TIME: Saturday, September 22nd, 7:00 P.M. PT
TV: Me-TV (Cox Cable 129 in Las Vegas)
TICKETS: You can get tickets at the gate or at UNLVTickets.com.
Last season's game between UNLV and Air Force was a decent score until the Falcons blew it up in the fourth quarter.
A quick look at Air Force, although everyone should be pretty familiar with the Falcons, with them being the Mountain West and all.
CONFERENCE: Mountain West
SB NATION BLOG: None, although the Falcons are covered here on Mountain West Connection
2012 SEASON: Air Force opened up their season with a 49-31 victory over Idaho State, but then lost to Michigan in a well fought battle, as the Falcons dropped to 1-1 with a 31-25 loss. Last week, Air Force had a bye week.
COACH: Troy Calhoun is now in his sixth year at Air Force, which was his first job as the head man. Calhoun has gone 42-25 in that span, something that Air Force fans are definitely pleased with. Calhoun was previously the offensive coordinator with the Houston Texans.
KEY OFFENSIVE PLAYERS: Quarterback Connor Dietz is probably the most important piece of the puzzle for the Air Force offense, as Dietz runs the triple option nearly as well as long time quarterback Tim Jefferson did. Cody Getz, the Falcons running back, is another key player, who has used the option offense to his advantage to gain some serious yardage on the ground.
