College Football Rankings: Preseason Simulated BCS Standings

There is nothing more college football than the annual tradition of complaining about the BCS (only two more seasons!). BCS Guru Samuel Chi has put together his top 25 simulated BCS standings with the information that is available right now.

That information includes the USA Today Coaches Poll, AP Poll (subbing for Harris) and only a partial list of computer rankings do a preseason list. Boise State comes out looking very good in this initial projection. The three of the four computers have them ranked in the top 10, and the exact numbers are fifth, sixth and eighth, with one has them at No. 17.

So even with tossing out the high and low Boise State has a nice computer average. With that they are No. 18 in the poll. The reason that is huge is because as of now the highest Big East team is Louisville who comes in at No. 30, and (I know this is way off) with that ranking for the Big East it would allow Boise State to earn a BCS bowl bid if they get to No. 16.

This list goes 47 deep to include any team that gets any BCS points, and no other Mountain West team makes the cut, but I expect that to change. as the season progresses.

Here are the simulated BCS standings:
